SEEK Flex Your Skills
Building off of a visual approach from a previous SEEK project we launched into the world of Rachelle through these quirky, upbeat spots featuring a cozy cast of lovingly-designed characters.
Finding your happy place.
SEEK’s primary goal is to encourage people to find a workplace that fits them — a place where they expand their skills and realize their potential. To that end, we wanted to establish a fun, loose environment for these spots that took the anxiety out of the job hunt. With a solid brief and script from the client, we were off and running on day one, doing what we do best.
From boards to cel to After Effects.
Having an established, visual language from the previous Seek spot helped us as we began storyboarding. We really wanted to stretch and push the perspective on this clean, reduced look this time out and our early cel animation experimentation helped us crack this. A rough version of the spot was fully visualized in cel animation before we took it into After Effects to doll it up.
Our visual approach pushed the perspective to create distorted and wild illustrative moments. Bold, seamless transitions helped us create a strong contrast between dramatically different scenes. The visuals move the narrative along as Rachelle navigates her way through different career prospects and meets new characters on her journey to find the right job.
Cel-heavy projects can be more time consuming, so we were chuffed to turn this one around so quickly. And we really enjoyed letting our freak flag fly — not every job calls for women riding bees and anthropomorphic clocks — but this one had BUCK written all over it.
